Treasurer of NTEU Local in Utah Pleads Guilty to Theft; Sentenced

Printer-friendlyPrinter-friendlyEmail to friendEmail to friendNTEU logoOn June 24, Shelia Brown, former treasurer of National Treasury Employees Union Chapter 67, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court for the Central Division for the District of Utah to theft of funds from the Ogden-based union in the amount of $20,705.21. She then was sentenced to 12 months of probation. A restitution hearing is scheduled to take place by the end of September. Brown had been indicted in January following a probe by the U.S. Labor Department's Office of Labor-Management Standards.
