A page on President Barack Obama’s presidential campaign website appeared to have been compromised by a hacking organization Sunday evening.
The page, donate.barackobama.com, temporarily redirected users to a website, sea.sy/indexs/, appearing to belong to hacking group Syrian Electronic Army.
“Hacked by SEA,” the website that users were redirected to read.
At around 8:15 p.m. Sunday the webpage stopped redirecting users to the alternate website. It was not immediately clear when the webpage was initially compromised.

The donation page that was compromised, however, appeared to have been old. The Obama campaign has most recently been using another page on the website, contribute.barackobama.com, to solicit donations.
The Syrian Electronic Army is a hacking group famous for supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. In August, the group defaced the New York Post’s Facebook page and multiple prominent Twitter accounts.
